Road Patrol is headed by Capt. Mark Stanfield and Lt. Steve Rogers, SR. The division consist of 4 Sgts. 4 Cpls and 25 Deputy's. They have 2 K-9 units with trained drug/attack dogs.
The Road Patrol division covers 458 square miles which is divided into 3 sectors. Along with other divisions the Road Patrol responded and initiated 36949 calls for the year of 2004. These calls ranged from domestic calls, warrant executions, traffic stops and arrest, drug arrest and civil actions.
Deputy's average about 40 plus hours yearly training. Each deputy is assigned their own patrol car, weapons, and uniforms. They work 12 hour shifts.
In the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit, the Walker County Sheriff Deputy's earn a higher salary than surrounding agencies.
Emergency calls are dispatched from the county E-911 Center. Calling 706-375-7810 can also dispatch non-emergency calls.
